Yeasayer just released an… interesting… video for ‘O.N.E.’ off their ‘Odd Blood’ album released last month (embedded below).  It’s like being in the future, but only if the future is a super-weird version of the 1980s, neon and all – which frankly, seems appropriate for the band that once described their own music as “Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel”.

Truth is, I’m having a bit of a tough time describing Yeasayer’s sound.  Their songs feature hooks and melodies that make you want to belt them out in the shower, deep cavernous percussion that makes you want to go out and buy brand new headphones, and complex layers that make you want to listen over and over to pick up on something new.  I guess my only advice is to put in some Shures, select repeat on your iPod, and hop in the shower.
